GSD Feb Challenge

Introducing "Nerdy but Nice"

Love is in the air for the month of February and instead of creating a card with lots of pink, red and purple, i decided to make 1 less feminine.

So here's my take on this month's challenge!

The books and shelf is from Simon Says Stamp "To Thine Own Shelf" stamp set and sentiment formed from Lawn Fawn's alphabet stamp set.

If i am a nerd or a very smart girl who is buried among books (unfortunately not, i am just buried in pretty papers and stamps! LOL.) I would find my other half among my books too! Very cute, right?!

The bunny is coloured with Copic markers and i also added a layer of glossy accents on his glasses. Too bad, the camera can't catch a good picture of the "thick" glasses.

Let's Fly A Kite

Hi there! This card has been circulating the web for awhile..... Made this back in Dec 2014 and it has been on my instagram and proud to say, on Mama Elephant's re-gram too! If you are a fellow crafter, you will understand my excitement, right? When it was re-gramed, my followers shot up! So so so encouraging. Best year end gift from one my favourite stamping company.

And this was made possible because i had a customer who was very encouraging and inspiring too. He found my work somewhere (probably on Carousell) and he emailed me very clearly what he wanted on the box card, yet he trusted my skill to decide on other designs too.

Side track, there are sometimes when a customer wants something so specific that anything "extra" that you do will deem "not nice" by a customer. At those times, i feel sad and restricted because when someone engages me, i hope they love my taste and design concept already. However, no matter what, i learn from every order i get. I learn to ask specific questions before accepting orders. Example, are there any colors i should avoid or can i use cute images.

Anyway, back to the customer. He signed off with his Dayre account and i did some "background" check and found out he was a special person. To cut the story short, he suffered a stroke last year when he was just 20 years old. Read more here and do feel free to shower him with words of encouragement. :)

After reading his posts, i felt "connected" to him and i feel a bless to be able to make him a 6 years anniversary card for his girlfriend who stood by such tough times. I can't image what went on in her mind when she picked up a call telling her that her boyfriend is in the hospital. For me, i think i will break down mentally and physically. Hmmmm, i am not good in dealing with hospital news. =/







Trees are from a  My Favourite Things die cut. Boy and girl image from Mama Elephant stamp set. Kite from an Imaginise stamp set. Lastly, the tent was printed from an online image.

Sail Towards Our Future

First and foremost... HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY! Eh, i do have a card dedicated to Mothers' Day however it is a special order for someone. So i can't share it yet! However, I will share another beautiful card made for one of my customer and i am so glad she loves it because she requested to have a card with the sentiment reading "Let's sail away from the past and sail towards our future.". So once i saw this phrase, first thing that came to my mind was to do something with boats or red & blue or sea kind of card.

Brain-storming starts and if you follow my page on facebook, you would have seen the sneaky preview whereby the papers i used initially was just plain red and blue cardstock and the image was uncolored. I must say that i had to color the image 2-3 times before i got all the elements (sky, water, boat) correct. The blue of the sky was either too close to the sea of the colors of the sail didn't seem to blend to with the background. All i can say is to keep trying and take a break if you have been coloring for an hour plus. Walk away and come back when an inspiration hits you.


The side view of the card. Very satisfied with the dimensions. And it was after i punched the borders that i realize they were perfect for inter-twining twines! Best way to create waves...


Colored the image with copics and the sea had a little stickles to make it shine. papers from Studio Calico and DCWV. Hope I'm keeping you inspired!

Purple Themed

There's always a color, character or shape a person likes and that's what i always try to fulfill when I receive card orders.

This order was all about purple and valentines. One card for a friend and another for a love one.

So here's my take.


This card is for a friend.


Pull the red ribbon out and you will see the greeting. It is still a card so you can open it up and write your message inside.


This card is for the love one.

Valentines Series

I did a mini Valentine's Series back in February and it was a mini peak period for me. Abit of customization cards here and there plus the Chinese New Year celebrations kept me busy.

Inspired to do a polariod frame card and using arrows since it was trendy at that point of time. Now is the Anchor trend though~

Another Polariod frame appearing but this time, it is a shaker frame. Die cut lots of different hearts in different tones of red to put inside the frame. It is pure cuteness!

Hi! I'm here today to share a card made with lots of my spare transparent buttons. I have so many till i don't know how to use them, so i decided to make one card with it. And now this card has a very heavy front. haha! It stands strong but a little unstable when I don't place the card properly (topples front)!


Since Valentine's Day is coming, washi tape with kisses images on it is the best fit for this card! Really love this clean and simple card meant for any sweet friend or boyfriend. :)

Greetings! I was feeling bored one day and decided to tear up my washi tapes into bits and pieces. I stuck them down onto some diecut hearts since they were just some sample pieces when i was fiddling around with my new purchase.

Anyway, a simple card using Simple Stories paper collection and Maya Road chipboard words.

I know the overall looks dull but i guess it will be good for a male recipient!

Hello everyone! It's the eve on Singapore's National Day and it is nice to wake up in the morning and hear the school underneath my block singing all the lovely National Day songs. Sounds really good!

So here I've been quieter than usual because I am back in office doing all the paperwork after my event and also selling off my graduation series card. Hope you found something that you like during the series.

While being a busy bee, i did get a chance to do a small card because it started off with playing with my shades of green washi tapes. I can say my collection has grown this year because i found a cheaper source of "supplier".


Pasted rows of washi tapes, tied a Twine around it and punched 3 hearts out to create a negative and pasted the 3 alphabets that all lovers love to say..... very quick and simple card to drop a sweet note to your lover.

I am all excited now because i should be heading down to IKEA tomorrow to book my new furnitures for my room. However, before i even start packing my 2 tables to prepare them for disposal, i am already starting to feel that i will miss it... sigh^

FML04

Hi! I'm back again and for the first time, i'm using a chevron paper! The rave of this zig-zag pattern is huge in the scrapbooking world now and i have to say, i'm part of it. I even bought a washi tape with zig-zag pattern during MWL 50% sales! To be honest, washi tapes are too ex unless they are on sale. =(

I initially wanted to distress the sides of the tag with stormy sky distress ink. But i ended up having lines because i sponged it too quickly. So i instead of throwing away the tag, i pretty much soaked the tag into the ink pad and got it so wet until it curled up! But thank god for heavy books, i manage to straighten it out and thank god the tag did not end up too weak and soft.
