RAK: Thinking of you

 photo IMG_20140817_000044.jpg
A few weeks ago, i had a surge of feeling/thoughts. That feeling/thoughts was "I have to make a few cards to send to some of my friends that i haven't met or chat in a long time!"

So i thought of a few and whatsapp them for their address. The obvious first thoughts from them were "YOU GONNA SEND ME YOUR WEDDING INVITATION?!" Hahaha.... Nah, but i will save your address and make sure I send them in future.

So here's a card for a friend who i have known through our favourite sport, Volleyball. She and i are always in slippers and we often meet at the Beach nowadays than in an indoor volleyball court. Used to stay over at her place for mahjong, BBQ, watch Soccer or just for some random sleepover. I could stay over at her place for 2 nights in row, i remember. She played a big part in my Poly days.

Glad i brought a smile on her face when she received this card and i hope i do so more often. Don't want to forget my friends. :)

Baby Elephant

 photo IMG_20140831_125027.jpg
Another box card for your eyes to feast on! I have created a few box cards and took photos of them too, but i haven't been sharing them because i want to sneakingly enjoy them myself. haha! Ok, i'm weird.... Anyway, so here's my second box card. Slightly bigger than the previous one. This is mainly for baby's 1 month old or babyshower event.

There is a tag whereby you can write your message on it. Then clip it back to the box using the arrow paper clip.

Carnival Box Card

 photo _MG_8091.jpg
Today's feature is on a box card!

What's a box card?
A box card is a card shaped into a box that opens up to look like the above! And closes up flat to be fitted inside an envelope! So fret'not if you plan to mail this out!

 photo _MG_8108.jpg
This box card closes to be the standard size of 4.25" by 5.5" normal card size.

I used Lawn Fawn's "Admit One" Stamp set on all the images. Colored them with Copic Markers and added Ranger's "Starry Night" Stickles on the carrousel. I am a bigger fan of cotton candies then ice cream, so i cut off the cones of the ice cream and added wooded stick to the back. I am not sure about you, but i think it does look like a pink and blue candy floss! Yums!

I also used Paper Smooches "Balloons" die to cut a few colored cardstocks. Mount them with foam tape and paste them at the background. What's a carnival without some balloons, yea?

Here are some images taken from the side. It was hard to take photos because there were too much depth and my i am using a 1.8mm lens. The camera went crazy when choosing what to focus on.

The best thing is, i used the cut apart journaling sheets from Echo Park to paste the side panels. I just had to slightly trim down the 4"x3" journaling cards and images fit perfectly to the side panels.

Upcycling A Can

My mum passed me an aluminum can the other day and told me she wanted me to do a simple deco for her to put her office pens. Hmmmm... simple......? Not quite possible~ I had to do something cute! Something complicated! So she won't throw it away after using for a few months! So i went ahead to choose the animals that she loved!

Lawn Fawn Critters In The Farm are perfect for this!

Gesso-ed the background. Painted it with blue and green acrylic paint. Stamp and copic color the images before cutting them out. Great challenge was arranging them and rotating the can again and again so the images look "logical". I mean, i won't want to see 2 rabbits side by side... haha!

Next, i applied tons of mod podge to seal the images onto the can. Had to press them down before moving on to the next image because the can is round and the images kept popping up while the glue is wet! Kept telling myself "Patience.......".

And so, ta-da! Love the vibrant colors and cute animals!

Happy Easter

 photo _MG_5540.jpg
These bunnies/rabbits are pure cuteness. And i made this card for my friend who was baptized on Easter Day. Congrats girl!

Anyway, recently I've been eyeing on Holland Lop bunnies.I didn't actually have a pet before except for Fishes. My house used to have hamsters last time but that belonged to my siblings. Anyway, i've been craving to have a pet who is good to snuggle with yet not smelly. Smelly as in those Guinea Pig smelly - those are like "OMG smelly".... And Holland Lop seem to be easy to maintain like a good pet to make a start in taking care of another life. I'll see how......

Valentines Series

I did a mini Valentine's Series back in February and it was a mini peak period for me. Abit of customization cards here and there plus the Chinese New Year celebrations kept me busy.

Customized Xmas Cards II

These cards are half the size of the usual ones i make. Half the size didn't mean easier because i had to squeeze all the information and cute stuff in that small small space - isn't easy man!

Note: If you do not know my style, it's basically cute and everything hand stamped and hand colored. :)
